Position Summary

Chroma Early Learning Academy is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Cook to prepare and serve nutritious meals and snacks for children and staff. The ideal candidate understands food safety, enjoys working in a childcare environment, and takes pride in maintaining a clean and organized kitchen.

Duties

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve meals and snacks in accordance with USDA/CACFP and state guidelines
• Follow posted menus and accommodate food allergies and dietary restrictions
• Maintain proper food storage, labeling, and temperature logs
• Ensure kitchen cleanliness and sanitation standards are met at all times
• Wash dishes, clean equipment, and maintain organized kitchen areas
• Assist with inventory, ordering, and proper food rotation (FIFO)
• Comply with all Georgia DECAL, health department, and Chroma policies
• Communicate effectively with leadership regarding supplies and kitchen needs

Requirements

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Previous experience as a cook or in food service preferred
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
• Ability to obtain required food safety certifications
• Experience working in a childcare or school setting is a plus
• Dependable, organized, and able to work independently

Schedule

• Morning and mid-day shifts available
• Hours may vary based on enrollment and program needs
