Summary
Jupiter House Preschool is seeking a nurturing, dependable, and enthusiastic Pre-K Assistant Teacher to support our lead teacher in preparing students for kindergarten success. The ideal candidate is passionate about early childhood education, values teamwork, and creates a positive, engaging classroom environment where children feel safe, supported, and excited to learn.
Duties
- Assist the lead Pre-K teacher with implementing engaging, hands-on learning experiences.
- Foster a warm, safe, and stimulating environment that supports children’s growth and development.
- Float between classrooms as needed, stepping in to assist teachers and provide care for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming learning space.
- Encourage positive social interactions, self-regulation, and independence among children.
- Support daily routines, including meals, nap time, and outdoor play.
- Communicate effectively with teachers, parents, and staff to ensure a collaborative environment.
- Follow state licensing guidelines and center policies to uphold safety and quality standards.
Requirements
- Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent; Early Childhood Education (ECE) certification is a plus.
- Previous experience working with young children in a preschool or childcare setting is preferred.
- Strong passion for early childhood education and a nurturing attitude towards children.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Patience, creativity, and adaptability to meet the needs of each child.
- First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain one) is an advantage.
