Assistant Toddler Teacher 2026 school year

Summary

Are you looking to join a creative and energetic preschool team? Do you love working with young children and helping them foster their love of learning? We are the longest running preschool in Maitland and are looking to add to our fun, friendly, and professional staff. We are looking for an assistant teacher for our preschool program to work Monday through Friday from 9:00am - 1:00pm.

Duties

• Assist in planning and implementing the daily program under the direction of the lead teacher.
• Assist in planning and preparing the learning environment, set up learning centers, and prepare needed materials and supplies, including copying, laminating, and preparing for after school activities.
• Supervise the classroom when the lead teacher is out of the room or absent.
• Help with the general housekeeping tasks.
• Assist the lead teacher in any other way.
• Maintain confidentiality of children, parents and fellow staff members.
• Maintain professional attitudes and loyalty to the program at all times.
• Treat all of the children with dignity and respect.
• Attend all staff meetings and recommended training programs and conferences.
• Complete required 15 hours in-service training per year.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age with High School Diploma
• Minimum of 2 years of professional childcare experience in a childcare setting.
• Must have the required DCF 45 hours or be working on them.
• High energy and the ability to work well with others.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Warm and friendly personality; be sensitive to the needs of others; and be able to relate well to children.
• Must have, or be willing to get, CPR and First Aid certification.
• Must clear full background check.

Nice To Haves

More than 2 years' experience in early childhood education.

First Aid and CPR completed.
