Summary

Cabot Children's Center is seeking a compassionate, dependable, and enthusiastic Early Childhood Professional to lead this welcoming environment that specializes in infant and toddler care. The ideal candidate is committed to providing a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment that supports the developmental, social, and emotional growth of young children. We are a very small licensed center for 15 children that is nestled in the supportive community of Cabot, VT. Cabot Children's Center value teamwork, communication, and community. Duties

•        Clear communication with coworkers and families
•        Time management
•        Manage daily operations of licensed program
•        Supervise and work collaboratively with staff
•        Foster positive relationships with children and families
•        Plan weekly and execute classroom activities to help promote age appropriate learning
•        Maintain a current list of food sensitivities/feeding schedule and children's specific needs and any particulars
•       Fluency with online childcare app for real time communication with families
•        Create monthly newsletters for families to communicate upcoming events and classroom activities
•        Conduct parent meetings, conferences an family events to engage families
• Develop and implement policies and procedures that align with licensing regulations.

Requirements

Education/experience requirements:

Must be 21 years of age.

Meet Teacher Associate qualifications

Vermont Early Childhood and Afterschool Program Director Step One Certificate

or

successful completion of 3 college credit course in program management for early care and education or for school age care and education, or in staff supervision related to early care and education of children; and a 3 college credit course in curriculum.

2 years experience

Training/certifications requirements:

   As per center policy, all employees must complete a minimum of 50 hours professional development yearly, maintain current 1^st aid and CPR certification, and complete the following trainings:

       VT orientation training

       Mandated reporting

       Medication administration

       Basic specialized care

       

All employees must follow the guidelines and policies outlined in the Employee Handbook. Employees are also required to be familiar with The State of Vermont Child Development Division Licensing regulations and policies. The candidate must be able to pass a background check and fingerprint screening.
