Summary
A Baby room Teacher is here to create a caring, nurturing and safe environment for the children and implement activities to improve the overall development of each child. Our baby room teacher must be able to communicate in English and Spanish, listen and work well with others in a team environment and follow directions and state guidelines. Assisting each child in reaching their developmental milestones to transition to the next classroom, developing positive relationships with each child and their parents, and providing a safe and caring classroom setting. Baby room teachers observe and document children's interest and progress, and relays that information back to parents and staff. Teachers are responsible for implementing developmentally appropriate activities based on children's interests and needs under the direction of the Director.
Duties
- Implement curriculum activities and meet developmental goals
- Actively engage in supervision; manage cleanliness, order, and availability of classroom materials
- Maintain frequent communications with parents and administrative staff
- Help ensure smooth, daily transitions
- Follow all center policies and state regulations
- Maintain personal professional development plan to ensure continuous quality improvement
- Maintain certifications and complete all required trainings
Requirements
- High energy
- Be able lift small children
- Be able to sit on the floor with children
- Ability to work well with others
- Great problem-solving skills
- Strong oral and written communication skills and basic computer skills.
- A strong understanding of child development
- Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification
- Highschool Diploma or equivalent
- Must clear full background check
- Bilingual
