Indiana Flooring Carpet One is a family-owned business proudly serving Anderson and surrounding communities for over 60 years. As part of Carpet One cooperative—the largest flooring group in the world—we offer premium products, professional installation, and an award-winning customer experience.
We are currently seeking a motivated, customer-focused Sales Professional to join our showroom. This role blends retail sales, cultivating new customers, design consultation, and project coordination, making it ideal for someone who enjoys helping customers bring their spaces to life while building long-term relationships.
· Monday–Friday: 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM
· Saturday: 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM
· Full-time schedule averaging 40 hours per week
· Rotating weekday shifts to ensure coverage and support a balanced team schedule
· Expected to work 3 Saturdays per month (weekday off provided the following week)
· Occasional early or late hours may be required to accommodate customers, measurements, or installer coordination
· Guide customers through flooring selections that meet their design goals, lifestyle needs, and budget
· Sell flooring products and related services in the showroom and during in-home appointments
· Clearly explain product features, warranties, maintenance, and installation processes
· Prepare accurate quotes, estimates, and sales orders, including all services required for installation
· Schedule measurements and installation appointments and follow up before and after job completion
· Process customer payments and deposits
· Build and maintain strong, long-term customer relationships, including repeat and referral business
· Manage product samples and help maintain a clean, professional showroom
· Participate in promotions, events, meetings, and ongoing training
· Resolve customer concerns quickly and professionally, partnering with management as needed
· Maintain strong product knowledge through manufacturer resources and Carpet One University
· High school diploma or equivalent required
· Passion for sales, customer service, and helping people make confident buying decisions
· Strong communication, organization, and time-management skills
· Self-motivated, coachable, and comfortable working toward sales goals
· Ability to calculate measurements, pricing, discounts, and commissions accurately
· Comfortable with computers and technology (Microsoft Office required; RFMS a plus)
· Reliable transportation for in-home appointments
· Professional appearance and positive, team-oriented attitude
· Ability to measure & scope customer homes for applicable flooring types
· Willingness to complete Carpet One University and earn Five Diamond Sales Consultant Certification
Retail sales experience preferred (flooring, home improvement, or design experience is a plus, but not required)
· Paid training / probationary period (hourly, with overtime if applicable)
· Transition to draw plus commission structure after training
· Commission paid once installation is complete and customer account is paid in full
· Income potential commonly ranges $30,000–$60,000+, based on performance
