Preschool After School Teacher

Summary

Our Preschool Academy is seeking a motivated and dedicated School-Age Lead Teacher to join our team immediately. This role is ideal for an energetic educator who thrives in a collaborative environment and is committed to creating a positive, engaging experience for school-age children.

Position Details:

• Part-time position
• Regular schedule: 12:30 PM – 6:30 PM
• Morning availability preferred to support program needs as required

Duties

Essential Job Responsibilities

• Supervise children at all times to ensure a safe, secure, and nurturing environment conducive to learning and play.
• Participate in ongoing professional development to remain current with educational best practices and regulatory requirements.
• Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans aligned with monthly themes and program goals.
• Accurately complete all required classroom documentation and reports on time.
• Adhere to all center policies, procedures, and licensing regulations, including those established by the Department of Children and Families (DCF).
• Safely operate a 14-passenger bus to transport children from partner elementary schools to the center, in compliance with all transportation and safety regulations.

Required Experience and Skills

• Previous classroom teaching experience preferred.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds.
• Strong teamwork skills with the flexibility to adapt in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while prioritizing the needs of children.
• Genuine passion for working with children and a strong commitment to making a positive impact in their lives.

Requirements

Required Education and Certifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent (required)
• Child Care Staff Credential (preferred)
• Completion of 45 DCF training hours (required)
• Current CPR and First Aid certification (required)
• Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
• Must be at least 21 years of age, in accordance with transportation and licensing requirements
