Summary
We are seeking an individual who can work afternoons in our school-age program and take on additional hours when school is out and our school-age children attend childcare all day. The desired schedule for the position is Monday-Friday from 2pm-6pm, however, we can be flexible depending on the situation. There is opportunity to work full-time during certain times of the year but not required. The Educator is responsible for managing a classroom and planning activities. Talking with both children and adults is a must. Staff work closely together to support each other so being a team player is a must.
Duties
- Supervise the children in your care at all times.
- Ensure a heathy environment - including maintaining appropriate hygiene and cleanliness standards and safety and security of the children.
- Ensure all center policies and state regulations are followed and met.
- Lead by example- encourage and help one another.
- Give input to help Implement a classroom curriculum guide to encourage learning thru play during classroom activities.
- Receiving the children afterschool, helping them transition to the afterschool program.
- Assisting with snack time.
- Assisting in cleaning and preparing the center for the next day.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Must have a high school diploma or GED
- Must clear a background check and physical
- Must have a positive attitude, be a team player and work well with others (Staff, children, parents and other adults)
- Must complete online training the state requires (Some is completed before working with children and some is completed in-house)
- CPR and First Aid are required to be completed. (Director can set this up if you are not already trained or certified.)
- Be able to take short walks and walk the playground, use hands and fingers, handle objects, tools and controls, hear well overall. May also be required to kneel, stand, squat, etc,
- A specific vision ability will be required including the ability to see up close and up to a certain distance, to see colors and have peripheral vision and depth perception.
- Assist in cleaning and preparing for activities or the following day.
