Hiring an experienced Bike Shop Retail Service Manager. A passion for cycling, knowledge of bicycles, motivated sales driver, and a proactive and problem solving attitude are qualities at the top of our list!

In this job you will

  • Manage the bike shop's service department with exceptional leadership and dedication to providing the highest quality retail experience.
  • Manage the intake of customers bikes into the service department utilizing Bike Mart's check in process.
  • Manage a group of service technicians to ensure highest quality of repair work.
  • Delegates repairs to ensure deadlines are met.

Bike Shop Service Management experience preferred. Riders and enthusiasts preferred. Open to all ages and levels of experience.

Duties

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Hire/develop service tech’s
  • Develop and mentor service employees.
  • Set clear expectations to service staff to help them understand what is expected of them.
  • Provide training/support for staff to help them meet expectations
  • Evaluate staff to help them understand where they are in meeting expectations
  • Work with buyer to ensure appropriate products are in stock when needed.
  • Manage the hours of staff, balancing OT hours, getting the work done and maintaining energy and morale of staff.
  • Works with Sales staff to make ready new bicycles.
  • Helps create and maintains a positive environment and relationship with sales staff to communicate make ready’s and sales specific needs.

Requirements

Requirements include but are not limited to:

  • 2+ years of bicycle retail management experience.
  • 1-3 years of experience in bicycle service.
  • High level of organizational ability; exceptional written and spoken communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Enthusiastically embraces the concept of serving the customer and providing an exceptional retail experience.
  • Is capable of safely lifting and carrying 25lbs on a regular basis.
  • Availability to work a flexible schedule based on business needs, including evenings and weekends
  • Is intrinsically self motivated, positive, and friendly; able to work both independently and as a member of a team; and thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Preferred candidates will have knowledge and experience in any or all of the following systems and tools:

  • Microsoft Excel
  • Bicycle Repair tools
  • Training and Coaching/Development experience
  • Sales Strategy formulation experience
