We are seeking a passionate, experienced Infant Teacher to support and guide infants in their earliest stages of development.


As an Infant Teacher, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and developmentally appropriate learning experiences for infants ages [insert age range, e.g., 6 weeks to 12 months]. This position requires a warm, patient, and adaptable professional who creates a safe, loving, and stimulating environment that supports each child’s physical, emotional, and cognitive development.


You will work collaboratively with families and team members to ensure individualized care, consistent routines, and a strong foundation for early learning.

Duties

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Design and implement developmentally appropriate activities that support infants’ cognitive, social, emotional, and physical growth.
  • Provide attentive, responsive, and high-quality care, including feeding, diapering, soothing, and supporting daily routines.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and nurturing classroom environment that meets health, safety, and licensing standards.
  • Observe and document developmental progress and communicate daily with families regarding routines, milestones, and individual needs.
  • Build positive, respectful relationships with parents and caregivers through consistent and professional communication.
  • Collaborate effectively with fellow teachers and staff to ensure continuity of care and a unified approach to infant education.
  • Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and ongoing professional development opportunities.
  • Comply with all applicable state licensing regulations, health guidelines, and organizational policies.

Requirements

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; Child Development Associate (CDA) credential or relevant early childhood education coursework strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience working with infants in an early childhood or childcare setting.
  • Current CPR and First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain upon hire.
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of infant care, including lifting, bending, standing, and engaging in floor-level activities.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively engage with infants, families, and team members.
  • Working knowledge of child development principles and developmentally appropriate practices.
  • Flexibility to work scheduled shifts within the center’s hours of operation.
  • Ability to successfully pass all required background checks and clearances in accordance with state regulations.

  • Schedule Flexibility: Availability to work additional hours or varied shifts as needed to support classroom coverage and operational needs.
  • Parent Communication Strength: Advanced skills in family engagement, including experience with parent coaching, workshops, or parent–child learning activities.
  • Advanced Credentials: Additional certifications or education in early childhood education, such as an Advanced CDA, ECE degree, or specialized training in infant mental health, inclusion, or special needs support.
