The Daycare Bus Driver is responsible for safely transporting children to and from the childcare center, field trips, and designated pick-up/drop-off locations. This position ensures the safety, well-being, and supervision of all children while maintaining compliance with state licensing, transportation, and safety regulations.
Safely operate a daycare bus or van following all traffic laws and childcare transportation regulations
Transport children to and from daycare, school, and approved field trips
Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
Ensure children are properly secured using age-appropriate restraints
Maintain accurate transportation logs and attendance records
Follow center policies for child supervision and emergency procedures
Assist children with boarding and exiting the vehicle safely
Maintain cleanliness and safety of the vehicle at all times
Communicate professionally with parents, staff, and administration
Report any vehicle issues, incidents, or concerns immediately
Ensure no child is left unattended on the vehicle at any time
Valid driver’s license (CDL if required by state regulations)
Clean driving record
Minimum age: 21 years old
CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
Ability to pass background checks and drug screening
Experience working with children preferred
Strong attention to safety and detail
Reliable, punctual, and professional demeanor
Ability to lift up to 40 lbs
Ability to sit for extended periods
Ability to assist children on and off the vehicle
Morning and afternoon routes
Occasional field trips or special events
