Are you passionate about the magic of first steps and first words? Carriage House Day Care is looking for dedicated and nurturing Infant/Toddler Teachers to create a safe, joyful, and developmentally stimulating environment for children ages 6 weeks to 3 years. You will play a vital role in their early social-emotional and cognitive growth during these foundational years.
Plan and implement age-appropriate, child-centered, play-based activities that promote exploration, motor skills, and language development.
Use reflective teaching practices to create a lesson plan that includes use of CT Early Learning Development Standards (ELDS).
Provide responsive care, including feeding, diapering, and comforting, while building warm and trusting relationships with each child.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment following all state licensing, health regulations, and Center policies.
Implement Classroom management strategies that guide children's behavior in a positive manner.
Communicate daily with families about milestones, routines, and progress using our Brightwheel app.
Participate in staff meetings, workshops, required trainings, and special events.
Requirements:
Must have knowledge of child growth development and appropriate practices
Must be have the ability to plan and implement age appropriate educational programming
Must be at least 18 years of age
Must be available to work during operating hours of 7:00 am - 6:00 pm (full time).
Must complete background checks, physical prior to starting
Must be knowledgeable of OEC licensing regulations and requirements
Must complete Care 4 Kids orientation requirement within 3 months of hire
Must have reliable transportation and be able to report in inclement weather
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and spend significant time on the floor interacting with children.
Must be able to maintain open communication with children, families and co-workers
CDA (Infant/Toddler focused) or Associate's Degree in ECE, preferred or willingness to obtain.
OEC Head Teacher certificate preferred.
Prior center-based experience working with young children preferred.
Current First Aid, CPR, and Medication Administration certification
CDA or Associate's Degree in ECE
OEC Head Teacher certificate
