Preschool Assistant Teacher

Summary

We are currently looking for a motivated and compassionate individual to join our community as an Assistant Teacher in our 3-5 classroom.

This is a crucial role that will involve supporting both the Lead Teacher and the students. The Assistant Teacher will help create a safe and nurturing environment where every student feels heard, can thrive, and succeed in all areas of their development.

Duties

• Assist in the implementation of curricula activities and encourage participation by children
• Collaborate with the lead teacher to support students’ needs in all areas - physical, emotional, social, and intellectual
• Support the lead teacher in reinforcing classroom agreements and work expectations in a positive manner throughout all parts of the day
• Responsible for documenting daily observations of students
• Help ensure smooth, daily transition from home to school

Requirements

• Minimum of 1-2 years of professional child care experience
• 21+ College hours in ECE or related field
• An understanding of child development
• Collaborate closely with the Lead Teacher to cultivate a supportive, responsive, and developmentally appropriate learning environment for all students
• Strong oral and written communication skills and basic computer skills
• Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
• Must clear full background check and must pass health screening

Pay Scale for Assistant: $20.00 - $24.00/hr ($35,200yr - $42,240yr) Dependent upon education and experience
