Preschool Teacher Full Time

Summary

Croft Christian Academy is looking for both full-time and part-time on-site Childcare Teachers to work with children ages 6 weeks to 5 years old. The Childcare Teachers will be responsible for nurturing children academically and spiritually while creating a supportive and engaging learning environment. Daily tasks will include implementing strategic practices, fostering creativity, and ensuring the overall well-being of the children.

Duties

• Supervise and engage children in play, learning, and Bible-based activities
• Communicate positively with parents and staff
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment
• Assist with classroom routines and lesson preparation
• Support each child’s individual learning and faith journey

• Provide emotional support through establishing a positive climate, being aware of and responsive to children, and encouraging children's expression and autonomy. 
• Use strategies for behavior management, such as clear behavior expectations, being proactive, and redirecting misbehavior.
• Foster classroom productivity and maximize learning time, while engaging children with a variety of modalities and materials
• Participates in assigned meetings, events, and required training.
• Maintain confidentiality regarding staff and family information.
• Be present at work in order to provide consistency of services.

Requirements

• At least 18 years old
• Must have a GED or H.S. diploma and have completed or are currently completing ECD 101
• Ability to easily adapt to different teaching situations
• Must be flexible to work a shift between 7:30 AM and 5:30 PM, and have reliable transportation to the Child Care center to ensure consistency of care
• Creativity skills for developing engaging educational activities
• Prior experience in a licensed childcare or early childhood education program is preferred
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Passion for working with children aged 6 weeks to 5 years of age and fostering their growth
• A background in Christian education or ministry is a plus
• Ability to pass background checks & health assessments
• Ability to lift up to 30 lbs. for child safety and emergencies
