Childcare Teacher

Summary

Legacy Learners Academy is a faith-centered early childhood program serving children ages 1–5. We are building a strong, professional team and are only seeking educators who understand that early childhood work requires consistency, accountability, and heart.

This position is not a good fit for someone who struggles with attendance, punctuality, or following procedures. It is a great fit for someone who takes pride in their work and understands the impact they have on young children every day.

Early Childhood Teachers at LLA are responsible for maintaining a structured, nurturing classroom where children feel safe, supported, and engaged. Teachers are expected to show up prepared, on time, and ready to actively participate—not just supervise.

Duties

• Provide consistent daily care and supervision for children in your assigned age group
• Follow established classroom routines, schedules, and behavior expectations
• Lead age-appropriate learning activities with intention and engagement
• Maintain accurate daily documentation (attendance, reports, required logs)
• Communicate clearly and professionally with families and leadership
• Maintain cleanliness, organization, and safety in the classroom
• Adhere strictly to DSS regulations, center policies, and safety protocols
• Work collaboratively with co-teachers and leadership

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED or higher degree
• Prior childcare or classroom experience strongly preferred
• Ability to follow directions, policies, and structured routines
• Strong time management and reliability
• Professional communication skills
• Must meet all South Carolina DSS requirements (background check, TB test, etc.)
