About Us

Glenbrook Kids Child Care & Learning Center is a newly licensed Connecticut Office of Early Childhood (OEC) program serving children ages 3 months to 5 years. We are committed to providing a warm, structured, culturally responsive, and developmentally appropriate environment rooted in strong relationships, compliance, and high-quality care.

Position Overview

The Head Teacher is responsible for the daily leadership and supervision, curriculum implementation, child development support, and compliance with all CT OEC licensing regulations. This position requires a confident, organized, and nurturing professional who can independently manage a classroom while collaborating closely with the Director.

Duties

Key Responsibilities


  • Lead and manage a classroom in compliance with CT OEC regulations
  • Plan and implement developmentally appropriate curriculum
  • Maintain required classroom documentation and child records
  • Supervise assistant teachers and support staff within the classroom
  • Observe, assess, and document child development and milestones
  • Foster positive relationships with families through daily communication
  • Maintain a safe, nurturing, and well-organized classroom environment
  • Support licensing visits, inspections, and ongoing compliance
  • Model professionalism, teamwork, and positive guidance strategies

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications 

✔ CT OEC Head Teacher Certificate (Infant/Toddler - Preschool (3–5) Age Group)

✔ Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or some credits in related field

✔ Experience working in a licensed early childhood setting

✔ Registered with the CT OEC Workforce Registry

✔ Current CPR/First Aid (or ability to obtain)

✔ Ability to pass background checks per OEC regulations

Pay: $26.00 - $30.00 per hour


Expected hours: 35.0 per week
