Summary

Pittsville Child Care Center has been through a restructure. We are excited about our new opportunities with our curriculum, assessments and our new leadership. We are looking to expand our program and are looking for the right person to join our team as our toddler teacher. This person must love being with an amazing group of two year olds.

We have restructured our classrooms and services to allow for additional spaces for children under age 4. We are ready for full enrollment and need additional teachers to meet our goals.

Starting pay is $12.87 – $26.98/hour depending on experience and The Registry level.

We also offer $5 per hour differential pay to child care teachers with a current DPI

teacher license.

Full-time positions include full benefits: including health, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance; HSA contributions; retirement; AFLAC; and others valued up to $32,000. Don’t need health insurance, we offer a $5,000 Opt-Out Arrangement payment.


Loyalty/Retention

Bonuses are offered to full-time and part-time staff.

If you work full-time with PCCC and have children in the PCCC, your child care fees are

discounted 50%. The discount is prorated, if you work part-time with PCCC.

College Interns or Early Childhood Student Teachers are encouraged to apply. Benefits and

pay reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

PCCC is a year-round full day child care center serving children 6 weeks-old to 4 years-old.

PCCC hours are 7:00 to 5:30 with morning, midday, afternoon, evening, and split shifts

available. Flexible scheduling for full-time and part-time workers.

Duties

  • Coordinate and implement educational curriculum by developing classroom activities based on developmentally appropriate practices and early learning standards
  • Lead by example; encourage teaching team success through modeling and coaching.
  • Plan individual and group age-appropriate activities to actively engage children and encourage social, cognitive and emotional growth.
  • Maintain frequent communications with parents through informal discussions, progress reports, and parent-teacher conferences.
  • Ensure all center policies and state regulations are met.
  • Ensure a healthy classroom environment – including maintaining appropriate hygiene and cleanliness standards and safety and security of children.
  • Supervise teacher assistants and classroom volunteers to ensure they are following planned activities, hygiene and safety standards.
  • Maintain accurate records, forms and files.
  • Maintain personal professional development plan to ensure continuous quality improvement.

Requirements

  • Teacher qualifications from WI Registry and experience.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills and basic computer skills.
  • High energy and the ability to work well with others (staff, children, and parents) and to foster a team environment.
  • A strong understanding of child development.
  • Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification.
  • Must clear full background check and must pass health screening.
  • Requirements include the ability to take frequent walks, use hands and fingers, handle objects, tools or controls, talk to and hear voices at many levels. May also be required to kneel, bend, squat or crawl.
  • A specific vision ability will be required including the ability to see up close and up to a certain distance, to see colors, have peripheral vision and depth perception.
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

Nice To Haves

An associates degree in early childhood education or related field. Not required.

Experience lesson planning and teaching in a preschool.
