Early Childhood - Lead Teacher, Shepherd's Fold

Summary

We're looking for an experienced, compassionate, and organized Lead Teacher to design and implement engaging early childhood curricula, guide assistant teachers, and build strong parent partnerships. You'll ensure a high-quality, supportive learning environment that meets the individual needs of every child, adhering to all early childhood standards and center philosophy.

Duties

Curriculum & Instruction: Plan and implement age-appropriate lesson plans, activities, and developmental goals.

Classroom Management: Maintain a safe, healthy, and organized learning environment, managing classroom behavior positively.

Team Leadership: Mentor, guide, and supervise assistant teachers and support staff.

Parent Communication: Maintain open, daily communication with parents, providing progress reports and conducting conferences.

Child Development: Conduct observations, complete evaluations, and track student progress.

Safety & Compliance: Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and state regulations; handle incident reports.

Center Support: Assist with material ordering, attend staff meetings, and represent the center.

Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED (Required).
• Knowledge of child development, teaching methods, and safety protocols.
• Communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to lift 35-50 lbs, stand for long periods, and get down on the floor with children.
• Must pass background checks and meet state licensing requirements.
• Have or obtain fingerprint clearance prior to start of work.
• Have or be able to obtain CPR/1st Aid.
• Have or be able to obtain a Food Handlers certificate.

Nice To Haves

• Associate's Degree or higher in Early Childhood Education (Preferred).
• Current Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential.
• 1+ years of experience in early childhood education (Preferred).
• Patience, creativity, flexibility, and a genuine love for children.
