Position Overview:
Children’s Day Preschool (CDP) seeks a talented and motivated individual to fill our part-time position as Staff Accountant. Reporting to the Executive Director, the Staff Accountant will be an integral part of our small, highly productive operations team.
As our Staff Accountant, you will be responsible for the day-to-day maintenance of all general ledger functions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, journal entries, bank reconciliations for monthly soft closings and the annual hard close, and preparing and maintaining all supporting documentation, schedules, and reports for the annual audit. Other accounting responsibilities include maintaining fiscal policies and internal controls to ensure organizational financial health and compliance with accounting standards necessary to facilitate CDPs mission and vision.
An outstanding staff accountant candidate will also have excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills.

Children's Day is a private, non-profit, high-quality preschool and child care center, located in Passaic, NJ. We serve the needs of our diverse community with passion and a high level of commitment to ensure the best early childhood education for our children within a supportive and caring environment. Our school provides year-round preschool programming to 117 children (ages 2.5 to 5); combining education and social services for our children and families.
