We foster creativity, collaboration, and critical thinking by encouraging exploration through hands-on experiences and meaningful relationships.


We are seeking a passionate, collaborative Assistant Teacher to support our educators and children in a Reggio-inspired classroom serving ages 3 – 5. The ideal candidate is curious, enthusiastic, and ready to support children’s learning journeys through intentional interaction, open-ended play, and reflective practice.


You’ll work alongside a Lead Teacher and report to the Center Director.

Duties

  • Assist in implementing a Reggio Emilia-inspired curriculum and environment
  • Support open-ended, project-based learning that nurtures creativity and problem-solving
  • Prepare and participate in weekly lesson planning and classroom documentation
  • Maintain an organized, engaging classroom that encourages independence and exploration
  • Provide consistent routines and help guide children’s social-emotional development
  • Interact with children intentionally to scaffold learning across developmental domains
  • Assist with child observations, assessments, and progress documentation
  • Build strong, respectful partnerships with families
  • Assume classroom leadership duties in the absence of the Lead Teacher
  • Participate in ongoing professional development, coaching, and reflection
  • Perform other duties as needed

Requirements

  • Passion for working with young children in a creative, respectful, and inclusive environment
  • Effective verbal and written communication
  • Culturally responsive and able to engage with diverse families
  • Computer proficiency (Microsoft Office, email, internet)
  • Dependable, flexible, and self-motivated
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Valid state-issued ID (driver’s license preferred)
  • Reliable transportation
  • Ability to pass background check and required TB test screening
  • Must be able to lift, push, pull or otherwise exert force up to 50 lbs.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in Reggio Emilia, Montessori, or other child-centered learning environments
  • Bilingual skills (Spanish or other languages)
  • CDA
  • First Aid & CPR Certification
