What You'll Do:
- Plan & Teach: Create engaging, age-appropriate lesson plans that nurture children’s growth in language, motor skills, and social development.
- Create a Safe Environment: Maintain a safe, clean, and positive classroom that encourages exploration and creativity.
- Support Development: Observe and assess the developmental progress of each child, providing individualized support when necessary.
- Build Relationships: Foster strong relationships with children, parents, and staff members, ensuring open communication and collaboration.
- Promote Positive Behavior: Guide children through social interactions and teach them how to manage their emotions and behaviors in a supportive environment.
Duties
Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Attend to children's basic needs by feeding them, dressing them, and changing their diapers.
- Teach basic skills, such as color, shape, number and letter recognition, personal hygiene, and social skills.
- Participate in activities designed to promote physical, mental, and social development, such as games, arts and crafts, music, storytelling, and field trips.
- Observe and evaluate children's performance, behavior, social development, and physical health.
- Identify children showing signs of emotional, developmental, or health-related problems and discuss them with supervisors, parents or guardians, and child development specialists.
- Follow Ohio State regulations according to Department of Children and Youth. (DCY)
- Teach proper eating habits and personal hygiene.
- Serve meals and snacks in accordance with state guidelines.
Requirements
What We're Looking For:
- Educational Background: Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field but not required
- Experience: Previous experience in a preschool or childcare setting is a plus.
- Skills: Strong communication, patience, creativity, and organizational skills.
- Certifications: CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Passion: A genuine love for working with young children and helping them grow academically, socially, and emotionally.
