Position Overview:

The Assistant Director supports the administrative management team and the daily operations of the preschool. This role is key in maintaining the health, safety, and quality of education for infants through Pre-K students. The Assistant Director will work closely with teachers and staff to ensure that curriculum and classroom activities are implemented effectively and that every child’s needs are met with care and excellence.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the overall management and supervision of daily school operations.
  • Support teachers in delivering high-quality, developmentally appropriate instruction.
  • Ensure a safe, nurturing, and faith-based environment for all children and staff.
  • Communicate effectively with parents, providing excellent customer service and care.
  • Maintain compliance with licensing and accreditation standards.
  • Use technology tools such as Google Docs and (ideally) ProCare software for administrative and reporting tasks.
  • Collaborate with the Director to plan staff training, family events, and school improvements.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field (preferred).
  • Previous experience in early childhood leadership or administration.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and technology skills.
  • Knowledge of Google Workspace; experience with ProCare software is a plus.
  • A positive, outgoing personality with a heart for serving children and families.

Duties

  • Welcome and greet visitors and parents
  • Administrative skills, including typing, organizing documents in Google, and conducting research
  • Assist teachers with using tablets in the classroom to record learning activities and the daily schedule.
  • Assume duties of Center Director and Teachers as needed during their absence.
  • Collaborate with staff to ensure adherence to quality standards in accordance with Center guidelines and state and local requirements; implement improvements where needed.
  • Maintain communication with families and the community through appropriate outreach activities.
  • Follow all center policies and state regulations.
  • Maintain a personal professional development plan to ensure continuous quality improvement.

Requirements

2 years of professional experience in an early childhood setting is preferred, but not required if you enjoy working with others and take initiative.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • A strong understanding of child development.
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Work well with other team members
  • Must clear full background check.
  • Being a problem solver is important!

Nice To Haves

Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification.

Knowledge of Procare Software

Experience working with Google docs

Our school is a State of Art Private PreK through 12th-grade private school. We are accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools / Advanc-ED and we strive to challenge our students each and every day. Students utilize a state-of-the-art computer lab and library for learning enhancement. Our students compete in a variety of academic events including Math Olympics, Creative Writing, Spelling Bees, Speech Meets, Science Fairs, and over 17 different sports teams. The early childhood division of the school bases its academic program on a weekly unit of study for academic advancement. Teachers use lesson plans to guide the delivery of information and address individual issues of advanced skill levels or areas of improvement that are needed. Parents may supplement curriculum by bringing in books, materials, or ideas related to the theme for the benefit of the class.
