Early Childhood - Floater

Summary

Fourth Street Day Care and Academy is looking for part-time floaters. This role is ideal for retirees needing part-time work and enjoy working with children. As of now, the hours will be from 9:00 am-1:00 pm.

Floaters are responsible for the supervision, management and care of a class of young children and infants, though class assignments may change throughout the day. They provide a loving, nurturing, safe, stimulating, Christian environment that promotes the social, emotional, physical and cognitive development of each child. Floaters are also responsible for supporting Lead Teachers in implementing engaging activities and educational programs.

Duties

• Provides additional aid and room coverage as needed for breaks, planning times, and absences.
• Actively engage in activities; manage cleanliness, maintenance, and availability of classroom materials.
• Encourage self-help and good hygiene through behavior modeling.
• Follow all center policies and state regulations.
• Maintain personal professional development plan to ensure continuous quality improvement.

Requirements

• Mature problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work well with others and receive direction.
• Reliable transportation to and from work.
• Must be able to pass a background check through Georgia Department of Early Care and Learning.

Nice To Haves

• Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification.
• Minimum of 1 year of professional child care experience
• Flexible schedule
