Part-Time Classroom Support

Summary

Saint John Preschool, a Catholic early childhood program in Darien, is seeking a warm, responsible, and enthusiastic part-time classroom support teacher to join our 5-Day 4’s program.

This position is available for an immediate start and covers Wednesdays and Thursdays from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. There is also the opportunity to substitute in other classrooms during morning hours if additional work is desired. We’re looking for someone who enjoys working collaboratively with teachers and who fosters a nurturing, faith-filled environment for young learners.

Duties

• Supervising children during lunch
• Assisting the head teacher with afternoon lessons and classroom activities
• Supervising playground time
• Helping with end-of-day transitions and dismissal

Requirements

• Prior experience working with young children, preferably in an early childhood classroom setting
• Successful completion of a background check
• VIRTUS training (required; can be completed after hire)
• Current CPR/First Aid certification
• Medication Administration certification
