Summary
We are seeking a nurturing, energetic, and dedicated Early Preschool Teacher to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for creating a safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate learning environment for children aged 2 to 3 years. You will plan and implement curriculum-based activities that promote social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development, while fostering curiosity and a love of learning. The ideal candidate will have a passion for early childhood education, strong classroom management skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with both children and parents.
Duties
Duties and Responsibilities:
Plan and Implement Curriculum:
- Develop and deliver age-appropriate activities that focus on cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development.
- Incorporate play-based learning, structured activities, and creative arts to engage children.
- Adapt lessons to meet the diverse needs and interests of all students.
Classroom Management:
- Create a warm, welcoming, and safe classroom environment.
- Establish and maintain clear routines and boundaries to support positive behavior.
- Monitor children's behavior, offering guidance and redirection as needed.
Support Social and Emotional Development:
- Foster positive relationships among children to promote cooperation, sharing, and problem-solving.
- Guide children in developing self-regulation, empathy, and communication skills.
- Provide comfort and support to children who may experience separation anxiety or other emotional challenges.
Assess Child Progress:
- Observe and document each child’s development and milestones.
- Provide regular updates on individual child progress to parents/guardians.
- Use assessment tools to track learning and development in key areas, such as language, motor skills, and social behavior.
Parent and Caregiver Communication:
- Establish open and frequent communication with parents to share updates, concerns, and milestones.
- Participate in parent-teacher meetings and events as needed.
- Offer advice to parents on how to support their child's growth at home.
Safety and Supervision:
- Ensure the safety and well-being of children at all times during indoor and outdoor activities.
- Follow health and safety protocols, including emergency procedures and cleanliness practices.
- Supervise children during playtime, snack time, and rest periods.
Collaborate with Team Members:
- Work with other teachers and staff to ensure a cohesive and supportive environment.
- Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and training sessions.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of classroom materials and resources.
Foster Independence:
- Encourage children to engage in self-help tasks (e.g., washing hands, feeding themselves).
- Promote early literacy and numeracy through interactive activities and play.
- Support the development of fine and gross motor skills through hands-on activities like art, music, and outdoor play.
Maintain Classroom Environment:
- Organize and keep the classroom clean, organized, and free from hazards.
- Prepare and set up materials for activities and lessons.
- Display children’s work and create visually stimulating areas that promote exploration and learning.
Promote Positive Relationships:
- Build trust and strong connections with each child to create a nurturing, supportive learning environment.
- Demonstrate respect for each child’s individuality, culture, and background.
- Address any conflicts or issues that arise between children in a constructive manner.
