Daycare Classroom Teacher

Summary

The Daycare Classroom Teacher is responsible for creating a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment for young children. This role includes planning and implementing age-appropriate activities that promote social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development. The teacher will provide individualized attention to meet the needs of each child, maintain open communication with parents and families, and ensure compliance with daycare policies and state regulations. In addition, the Daycare Classroom Teacher will foster positive relationships, encourage curiosity and creativity, and help children build foundational skills for lifelong learning.

Duties

• Plan and implement age-appropriate daily lessons, activities, and play experiences that promote learning and development.
• Create a safe, welcoming, and nurturing classroom environment for children.
• Supervise and monitor children at all times to ensure safety and well-being.
• Support social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development through structured and unstructured activities.
• Encourage positive behavior, cooperation, and respect among children.
• Observe and assess children’s progress; document milestones and areas of growth.
• Communicate regularly with parents/guardians about classroom activities, child development, and concerns.
• Maintain classroom organization, cleanliness, and compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Assist with daily routines such as meals, rest/nap times, and transitions.
• Collaborate with other teachers and staff to plan events, activities, and curriculum.
• Participate in professional development and training sessions as required.
