Afternoon Program Coordinator

Summary

We are looking for a compassionate, dedicated, and responsible person to oversee our late afternoon program in the 2025-2026 school year. The hours for this position must include 2:00-5:30pm daily, but an earlier start is possible for the right candidate. There are also options to add hours as a classroom or office substitute.

The Afternoon Program Coordinator is integral to maintaining standards for child and classroom care during the extended hours of operation. An ideal candidate would have classroom and/or office experience and the willingness to adopt Montessori practices. This position comes with opportunities for growth and school sponsored Montessori professional development for candidates interested in a career in Montessori education or administration.

Duties

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Day-to-day administrative tasks, such as answering phone calls and emails, filing, data entry, and photocopying
• Facilitate communication between caregivers, administration, and staff
• Support staff and children in classroom and on playground as needed 
• Ensuring all licensing standards are met across the program
• Ensuring daily maintenance of classroom and outdoor environments is completed
• Completing additional tasks under the direction of Administrative Director and Program Director 

Requirements

Requirements include:  

• Experience in a leadership role
• Strong written and spoken communication skills
• Strong abilities in organization, multi-tasking, and time management
• Love of children and willingness to be flexible to meet school needs as well as willingness to learn and adopt Montessori practice
• Ability to spend time on the floor/get down to children's level and lift up to 35lbs

Nice To Haves

Previous experience in a Montessori setting and/or office experience in an educational setting preferred
