Part-Time Cook & Cleaner– Childcare Center

Summary

We are looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Part-Time Cook & Cleaner to join our daycare team. This dual-role position is responsible for preparing and serving nutritious meals, as well as maintaining a clean, sanitary, and safe environment throughout the center. The ideal candidate will be organized, dependable, and enjoy working in a childcare setting. This is a part-time position with flexible daytime hours.

Duties

Kitchen & Food Service:

• Prepare and serve daily meals and snacks according to the center's menu and dietary guidelines.
• Maintain a clean and organized kitchen in compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Ensure proper storage, labeling, and rotation of food items.
• Wash dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment after each meal service.
• Assist with grocery inventory and notify staff when supplies need replenishing.

Cleaning & Sanitization:

• Clean and sanitize classrooms, bathrooms, and common areas daily.
• Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors as needed.
• Disinfect toys, surfaces, and high-touch areas regularly to maintain a hygienic environment.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
• Must pass background check and health screening (including TB test).
• Ability to work independently and follow a daily routine.
• Strong attention to detail and time management skills.

Nice To Haves

• Prior experience cooking or cleaning in a daycare, school, or commercial kitchen.
• ServSafe or food handler certification.
• Knowledge of child nutrition guidelines.
• Experience working around young children.
