Full Time Montessori Assistant Toddler Guide

Summary

Generations Montessori School of Charlottesville is seeking a nurturing and dependable Assistant Guide for our Toddler Program, beginning Fall 2025. As we proudly enter our 10th year serving families in the Charlottesville area, we’re looking for someone who is passionate about early childhood development and eager to support our Montessori community.

What We’re Looking For:

• Experience working with preschool-aged children is preferred
• Willing to train the right candidate with a strong work ethic and a heart for toddlers
• A team player who embraces calm, respectful interactions and child-led learning

Duties

• Supervise and ensure the safety and well-being of the children at all times

• Complete at least 16 hours of professional development each

year

• Be familiar with the regulations set out by the Virginia

Department of Social Services

• Exhibit a genuine, nurturing, caring attitude to all students

• Assist lead teacher in any way possible, including but not

limited to...

o Preparing and setting up activities, including snack

o Implementing portions of the daily program as directed by the

lead teacher

o Assisting in keeping the classroom, storage areas, playground

area, and bathrooms clean, neat, orderly, and sanitized.

o Assist with feedings, diaper changes, nap routines, etc.

Requirements

Must be able to pass a background check.
