Duties
Classroom Environment & Infant Care:
- Create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for infants (6 weeks - 12 months).
- Follow sanitation and safety protocols, ensuring a clean space for babies.
- Provide responsive care by meeting infants’ needs for feeding, diapering, and rest.
- Monitor and record developmental milestones, communicating progress with parents.
Curriculum & Development:
- Plan and implement age-appropriate activities that support cognitive, motor, and sensory development.
- Engage infants with tummy time, music, storytelling, and interactive play.
- Use flashcards, board books, and sensory materials to introduce early learning concepts.
- Encourage language development through talking, singing, and reading aloud.
- Support fine and gross motor skills through guided activities like grasping, rolling, and crawling.
Classroom Management & Safety:
- Supervise infants at all times to ensure their well-being and security.
- Follow a consistent schedule that includes feeding, naps, and playtime.
- Monitor infant health and notify parents of any concerns.
- Maintain daily reports of feedings, diaper changes, and developmental progress.
Parent Communication & Team Collaboration:
- Provide daily updates to parents about their child’s activities and milestones.
- Use positive, professional communication when addressing concerns or developmental updates.
- Collaborate with assistant teachers to ensure smooth classroom operations.
- Train and mentor assistant teachers on best infant care practices.
Requirements
- Minimum of CDA, Associate’s, or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field.
- 2+ years of experience working with young children in a structured setting.
- Strong classroom management and leadership skills.
- Passion for teaching and a commitment to fostering child development.
- Ability to plan engaging activities that support academic and motor skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
