About Us

The Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee has created a text based web based Substitute Service to connect trained, vetted, experienced substitutes with the directors in need. Personnel documents are shared through a central secured portal. Substitutes participate in group and individual training to prepare for substitute assignments. Assignments can be made in advance or the day of need. Placements are purchased as a package and used as needed. The Substitute Service helps child care centers to maintain consistency of quality care while allowing staff time away for personal and professional needs. 

General Position Description

The Substitute Enrollment Specialist works with Childcare Tennessee and child care center staff to implement and maintain an substitute enrollment process to ensure full staffing of center. Builds strong relationships with local agencies, schools, towns, businesses and non-profits to minimize staff vacancies and maximize substitute placements; assists potential substitutes with completion of appropriate forms and on boarding in the text message system; works with child care providers in maintaining job postings and full use of the substitute platform. 

Duties

• ·        Facilitate enrollment and oversight of substitutes in Substitute platform in accordance with center DHS guidelines and policy.
• ·        Maintain confidentiality of substitute records.
• ·        Build and maintain relationships with local resources to maximize substitute staffing.
• ·        Maintain contact with local child care agencies.
• ·        Coordinate marketing and community outreach efforts.
• ·        Manage reporting as required by ChildcareTennessee Director.

Requirements

• ·        Experience working with local agencies; working knowledge of qualifications for state and local DHS child care regulations.
• ·        Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and technology skills.
• ·        Ability to operate with minimal supervision, with initiative and discretion.
• ·        Must clear full background check. 

 Minimum of Associate’s Degree in social services, business or human resources or related field.
