Duties
Job Description (includes, but not limited to):
- Supervise and monitor the safety of children while providing a nurturing and stimulating environment that encourages growth and development
- Implement a daily schedule of learning activities to meet physical, emotional, social, and intellectual needs of children to maintain throughout the day
- Build rapport and communicate effectively with families regarding child’s progress, interests and any challenging behaviors that may arise
- Utilize TN ELDs for guidance in creating monthly curriculum and weekly lesson plans to promote academic excellence
- Upkeep observations, assessments, art work, etc in child’s portfolio to present during parent-teacher conferences bi-annually.
- Demonstrate patience, empathy, and understanding in interacting with children
- Assist in diaper changing and/or toilet training
- Physical ability: lift up to 50lbs; sit or stand for long periods of time; walk, run and go up/downstairs
- Maintain a clean and organized classroom by cleaning, sanitizing, sterilizing toys and all surfaces, removing trash
- Log daily report and upload activities unto the Procare app
- Participate in on-going trainings (zoom, off-site, etc.) and mandatory monthly staff meetings
Requirements
- Ability to pass background check
- Reliable transportation
- Passion and patience for children
- An associate’s degree or higher in Early Childhood Education or equivalent (preferred), or CDA or Early Childhood Teaching credential
- Experience working with the youth and/or ECE
- Classroom management, behavioral challenges management, communication, punctuality, good work ethics, team player, and a desire to learn!
