FT Pre-K Teacher

Summary

We are looking for a reliable, kind, energetic person who LOVES kids - and who wants to work as part of an amazing childcare center team!

The position is for a Teacher in one of our Pre-K classrooms. It is full time, Monday - Friday from 8:30 am - 5:30 pm with an hour lunch break. The right candidate should have experience working with Pre-K (ages 4 and 5), and should enjoy working as part of a team. **Salary depends on education and experience.

The Neighborhood Learning Center serves children from infant through 5th grade and we are an active, friendly, FUN place to work! In 2024, we were the WINNER in Best of Loudoun for Best Child Care Center!

Duties

• Create a curriculum: Plan lessons and activities that focus on different areas of development 
• Teach basic skills: Help children learn colors, shapes, numbers, and letters 
• Support children's development: Help children reach developmental milestones and build self-esteem 
• Manage the classroom: Establish routines, supervise children, and maintain a clean classroom 
• Communicate with parents: Discuss children's progress and development with parents 
• Observe children: Evaluate children's performance, behavior, and social development 
• Provide positive discipline: Use positive guidance and discipline to help children learn proper behavior

Requirements

• CDA, Associates Degree, or College Degree
• At least 1 year experience working with ages 4 & 5 year olds in a pre-K environment
• Enjoys working as part of a team
• Reliable transportation
• Able to bend, twist, sit on the floor, and lift up to 30 pounds
• Energy and enthusiasm, and a sense of fun!
