Summary
The Assistant Director is responsible for assisting the Center Director in ensuring the health, safety, and quality of education for all children within the center's care. Under the direction of the Center Director, the Assistant Director collaborates with staff to ensure that curriculum and classroom activities are properly delivered, and that the needs of the students and the goals of the center are met appropriately.
Duties
Key Responsibilities
- Be present full-time, leading by example and working alongside teachers in the classrooms as needed. Ensure the center runs smoothly, addressing issues promptly and effectively.
- Manage the day-to-day activities of the center, including staffing, classroom ratios, and scheduling to ensure optimal operation at all times.
- Recruiting, coaching, mentoring, and training staff to maintain high educational and caregiving standards.
- Oversee annual inspections, assessments, and licensing requirements, ensuring all files and documents are up-to-date and the center remains in compliance with state and local regulations.
- Communicate with parents regularly to address concerns and ensure they are satisfied with the services we provide. Create and maintain strong relationships with the families we serve.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve center performance, increase enrollment, and enhance overall quality of care and education.
- Identify operational challenges and find effective solutions to ensure the center remains a stress-free, positive environment for staff and families.
Requirements
- Previous experience in childcare center management
- Strong background in early childhood education a plus
- Ability to lead and motivate a team while maintaining a supportive and collaborative work environment.
- Strong understanding of state regulations and licensing requirements.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with staff, parents, and children.
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
- Must clear full background check.
- Must pass health screening.
