Summary
We are currently looking for a full-time, experienced Preschool/Pre-Kindergarten Lead teacher to assist in planning and implementing daily activities that are appropriate to the developmental needs of the children in this classroom, age 36 to 60 months.
Duties
The Preschool/Pre-K Lead teacher is responsible for creating a warm, accepting classroom atmosphere that encourages the social, emotional and academic growth of all children enrolled in the program. Additionally, candidate is expected to:
- Prepare and teach appropriate lessons per the Infant guidelines, sing and interact with young children.
- Provide parents with accurate and timely information about their child
- Work cohesively with staff to ensure teamwork in the classroom
Requirements
The candidate must have the ability to:
- prepare and write legible, grammatically correct, and age appropriate lesson plans;
- communicate ideas verbally and written in English so children and parents will understand;
- observe and document children's behaviors;
- capture children's attention and stimulate their imagination and curiosity through story reading, story-telling, finger plays, music and movement, and creative age appropriate art
Nice To Haves
The candidate should have:
- Experience working successfully with preschool-aged children in a childcare environment
- An associate or BS or BA degree or a CDA in Early Childhood Education
- Strong knowledge of early childhood education to ensure appropriate programming is being continuously implemented in the Preschool classroom
- The ability to listen and interact with others (children, parents, co-workers, and Center Management)
- Ability to be an appropriate role model for children in the classroom and staff ensuring the behavior you demonstrate sets the tone for the expectations of staff you work with in the classroom and the children in your care
- Strong understanding of licensing requirements as it applies to being a Preschool Lead teacher
- Provide a proven track record for great interpersonal skills with children, staff and parents
