Summary
Seeking a dynamic, energetic, and dedicated individual to teach infants in our center-based program located in the heart of downtown Nashville! This individual will assist coordinating curriculum and managing the day-to-day operational activities of our infant classroom. Teachers should have a working knowledge of children’s cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development. The teacher must be skilled in communicating with both children and adults to meet the needs of the children, effectively work alongside other teachers, and resolve parental concerns.
Duties
- Assist in planning individual and group age-appropriate activities to actively engage children and encourage social, cognitive, and emotional growth.
- Coordinate and implement daily lesson plans based on developmentally appropriate practices and early learning standards.
- Maintain frequent communications with parents through informal discussions, progress reports, and parent-teacher conferences.
- Ensure all center policies and state regulations are met.
- Ensure a healthy classroom environment – including maintaining appropriate hygiene and cleanliness standards of the classroom and safety and security of children.
- Maintain accurate records, forms and files as needed in the classroom.
- Maintain personal professional development plan to ensure continuous quality improvement.
Requirements
- Minimum of one year of professional childcare experience.
- Strong oral and written communication skills and basic computer skills.
- High energy and the ability to work well with others (staff, children, and parents) and to foster a team environment.
- A strong understanding of child development.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Must clear full background check and must pass health screening.
- Complete 12-18 professional development hours per training year.
- Participate in required staff meetings and school events.
- Should be able to lift 40 pounds.
Nice To Haves
- More than one year of professional childcare experience is preferred
- College courses in Early Childhood Development are preferred
- CDA preferred
