Pre-K Teacher

Summary

Haygood United Methodist Preschool is seeking an enthusiastic Lead Teacher for a class of 8 students in our Pre--K Classroom. We are looking for a positive, engaging teacher who can create a consistent, safe, and supportive atmosphere where children are excited to learn about the world around them.

This position is ideal for someone looking to grow their skills as a preschool teacher. Haygood UMC Preschool strives to create a supportive, professional and encouraging work environment. where teachers are valued, appreciated and given the opportunity to continuously strive to be the best they can be. This position is 8:30-4:30 but could also be adapted to 8:30-1:00.

Duties

• Create a loving, nurturing and supportive environment for students to learn and grow.
• Foster a love of learning through projects, songs, music, activities and play.
• Implement curriculum guidelines to help prepare students for kindergarten.
• Write and send a monthly newsletter.
• Actively supervise students.
• Communicate daily with parents.
• Complete bi-yearly progress reports.
• Conduct bi-yearly parent/ teacher conferences.
• Participate in staff development and training opportunities.
• Change diapers/ assist in potty training when necessary.

Requirements

• Previous experience working with young children
• Excellent communication skills
• Flexible and team player
• Able to lift 40 pounds
• High school diploma or higher
• CPR Certification (available thorough preschool if needed)
• Ability to pass pre-employment background checks and physical
