Duties

  • Knowledgeable of Georgia GELDS. Develop and implement lesson plans incorporating engaging activities that are developmentally appropriate for 4-year-olds and meet each child's needs.  
  • Collect documentation, work samples, and observations for WSO. 
  • Conduct Parent Teacher Conferences. 
  • Daily operations of the classroom and meeting all state guidelines and requirements. 
  • Supervise and assist the Lead Teacher and classroom volunteers to ensure they follow planned activities, hygiene, and safety standards. 
  • Participates in required training programs, conferences, courses, or other aspects of professional growth. 
  • Greet children and parents/guardians professionally and enthusiastically each day. 
  • Follows daily procedures and routines to maintain a happy, sanitary, safe, secure, and relaxed atmosphere in the classroom. 

Requirements

An associate's degree in Early Childhood Education or higher is required. The ideal candidate should be dedicated to ongoing professional development and have at least 1-year of experience working in a childcare setting. They must also possess strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills (both written and oral). Additionally, they should understand Bright From the Start regulations, the Quality Rated system, Environmental Rating Scales, and the Georgia State Funded Pre-K system well. The candidate must pass a criminal background check and be certified by CPR/First Aid. They should be able to maintain physical activity with young children, including lifting at least 35 lbs. They should be comfortable sitting at the computer for 3 hours or more. A passion for working with children and a strong understanding of child development is a must.
