Summary
Infant Teacher is responsible for providing a safe and nurturing environment for infants and toddlers in a daycare or preschool setting. Infant Teachers must have knowledge of child development and be able to create age-appropriate lesson plans and activities. They must also communicate effectively with parents and be able to assess and report on each child’s progress. This is an entry-level position. Infant Teachers work under the supervision of Center Directors.
Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm
Duties
- implement daily lesson plans that align with the developmental needs of infants
- Provide a safe and nurturing environment for infants to grow and learn
- Attend to the physical and emotional needs of infants, including feeding, diapering, and comforting
- Observe and document developmental progress of infants and communicate with parents/guardians regularly
- Collaborate with other teachers and staff to ensure continuity of care and education
- Maintain a clean and organized classroom
- Follow all state and federal regulations regarding infant care and education
- Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in infant care and education
Requirements
- Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience working with infants
- Knowledge of infant development and care
- Ability to communicate effectively with parents and colleagues
- Patience and ability to handle high-stress situations
- Experience working in a licensed child care facility
- Strong understanding of child development and early education curriculum
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
