The Education Coordinator supervises members in the program area, especially with Power Hour, while assisting with and maintaining club program goals and settings that ensure the health and safety of members. The Education Coordinator acts as a contact person between teachers, parents, schools and the club in an educational capacity.
Oversees club members educational experience through Power Hour.
• Communicates with schools (counselors, teachers, etc) regarding grades and behaviors for club members.
• Creates ways to help ensure members are completing homework and getting assistance they need with schoolwork.
• Communicates with parents on educational assistance at the club as necessary.
• Ensure that members actively participate in the program area and activities for which you are responsible.
• Encourage members to seek advice and guidance from staff regarding problems.
• Ensure that children receive caring supervision, respect, and recognition for their efforts.
• Assist Unit Directors in organizing and implementing a range of program services and activities for enrolled members and visitors that are fun, instructional, and competitive, and that incorporate team-building skills.
• Initiate new programs with the approval of the Program Director; make recommendations concerning programs.
• Ensure safety, positive values, and ethical behavior through quality in programs, and the Club's appearance at all times.
• Guide members; act as a role model.
• Assist in maintaining inventories of all program equipment and supplies.
• Ensure all related supplies and equipment are maintained in good order (cleanliness and upkeep of Program Area after usage)
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
• May participate in special programs and/or events.

Ability to deal effectively with members, including disciplinary issues.
Demonstrated ability in relationship building and working with young people and parents.
High School Diploma
Must be available Monday- Friday 12:30pm-6:30pm
Must be at least 18 years old
Background working with children preferred
Basic technology skills (Excel, Word)
