Summary

The Development and Partner Strategist Manager will play a key role in increasing the visibility of the Child Care Action Council in our six-county region and lead our fund development efforts with individuals, community businesses and local philanthropy. The Manager works across many areas including program staff, board of directors, community members, supporters and partners.

The Manager in collaboration with agency Leadership and the Board will map out a shared vision, executing ambitious fundraising goals, and developing achievable strategies for sustainability and growth. This person will lead fundraising and donor stewardship for an annual amount approaching $800,000.


Primary development responsibilities include securing major gifts, corporate fundraising, special events, broad-based donor development and other projects; creating, planning, implementing, and measuring comprehensive fundraising strategies for the organization.

Primary partner strategist responsibilities are developing, managing, and stewarding partnerships that support the organization's mission of providing high-quality child care, early learning, and family services. This role involves collaborating with internal teams; marketing and branding the organization as related to fund development; coordinating outreach to the community; and managing a small volunteer program to the community and CCAC staff volunteerism.

Duties and Responsibilities

Executive Leadership

  • Serve as a member of the leadership team.

Development

  • Lead the development and execution of a multi-year fundraising, brand awareness, and marketing plan with clear and measurable goals that is in alignment with the organization’s overall strategic plan.
  • Create and direct a comprehensive development plan. Use fundraising and fundraising leadership experience, including experience in individual, corporate, and foundation giving through membership models, events, grant writing, and donor stewardship.
  • Manage fundraising program activities including relationship strategy development, prospect identification, solicitation and engagement, proposal development, recognition, and appreciation efforts as related to current and new revenue.
  • Develop and oversee a comprehensive individual donor program, including an annual fund, monthly giving, and major donor giving.
  • Manage a portfolio of small and major donors. Execute a strategy to cultivate new supporters from across various demographics. Research, engage, solicit, and steward donors, funders, businesses, and community partners.

·       Lead the process to design compelling events, including tracking all event logistics, coordinating event vendors and partners, and managing the annual event plans. Works closely with program staff on event marketing. Responsible for meeting fundraising and attendance goals and tracking event budgets.

·       Maintain and track donor contributions through client relationship management platforms.

·       Employ major donor recognition programs and communication.

·       Manage data by running reports, analyzing data, tracking trends and determining corresponding courses of action.


Partnership Strategy

·       create and implement partnership strategies to identify, engage, and cultivate relationships with partners who align with the organization's mission and goals in child care, early childhood education and family services.

·       Manage Partner Relationships by acting as a key point of contact for partners, ensuring that relationships are nurtured and that partners are informed, engaged, and supported in their involvement with the organization.

·       Collaborate with Internal Teams working closely with program managers and internal teams to align partnership strategies with program goals and ensure successful outcomes.

  • Identify opportunities through research and identify potential partnership opportunities, including grants, funding sources, in-kind donations, and collaborations with other non-profit organizations, government agencies, and private sector companies.
  • Monitor industry trends staying informed about trends in child care, early childhood education, family services and non-profit partnership management to inform strategic decisions.
  • Assist with Grant Proposals by collaborating with the Grant Manager to support grant applications and sponsorship proposals.

Requirements

Requirements:

  • Experience raising at least $500,000 over the course of a year.
  • Ability to design, direct, implement and manage fundraising plans, including individualized cultivation, solicitation and recognition plans.
  • Ability to determine an individual’s interests, capacity and potential for supporting CCAC’s work.
  • Grow individual giving to $50,000 annually over the next year, with on-going, significant year over year growth.

·       Demonstrated experience using listening, diplomacy and tact to build strong relationships and motivate donors and volunteers. Including in-person donor meetings.

  • Experience, coursework, or other training in current trends in charitable giving in the areas of capital campaigns, major gifts or planned giving.
  • Employ a justice and equity framework for development work, as demonstrated through analysis, practices, and messaging.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to plan strategically, think creatively, and build long-term relationships with donors.
  • Demonstrated self-starter, highly motivated and detailed oriented.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communications demonstrated through grant writing and reporting, donor communication, and other organizational messaging.
  • Knowledge of various software programs including but not limited to Raiser's Edge, Microsoft Office365, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Ability to work nonstandard hours (evenings, holidays, and weekends) as needed.
  • Strong budget and financial management skills and ability to prioritize development initiatives based on return on investment.
  • Highly proficient at establishing strong partnerships across organizations and influencing stakeholders to achieve optimal outcomes.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to quickly build and manage relationships between team members, leadership, and consultants.
  • Existing relationships in Seattle, throughout Washington State and nationally preferred.
  • Exceptional project management skills.
  • Have ability to manage in a climate of change and ambiguity.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • This position requires Washington state residence
  • Job may allow for hybrid work arrangements.
  • Uses collaborative software for communicating with others and attending virtual meetings.
  • Occasional travel is required, including some evening and weekend events.
  • Reliable transportation is required.

  • Frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
