Duties
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement age-appropriate curriculum and lesson plans that align with Georgia Pre-K standards.
- Create a safe, engaging, and inclusive classroom environment where children feel valued and supported.
- Assess and monitor students' progress and provide feedback to parents and administrators.
- Collaborate with assistant teachers and support staff to ensure the effective delivery of educational programs.
- Maintain open communication with parents and caregivers to foster a strong home-school connection.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in early childhood education.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field.
- Experience: At least one year of experience in a preschool or early childhood education setting is preferred.
- Skills:
- Strong understanding of child development and early childhood education principles.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to create a warm and inviting classroom atmosphere.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and administrators.
Nice To Haves
Certification: Georgia Professional Standards Commission (GaPSC) certification in Early Childhood Education.
Experience: Experience with the Frog Street Curriculum or other comprehensive early childhood education curriculums.
Tech Skills: Proficiency in educational technology and software used in early childhood education.
Bilingual: Ability to speak a second language, particularly Spanish, to better communicate with diverse families.
First Aid/CPR: Certification in pediatric first aid and CPR.
Professional Development: Ongoing participation in early childhood education workshops and seminars.
