Duties

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement age-appropriate curriculum and lesson plans that align with Georgia Pre-K standards.
  • Create a safe, engaging, and inclusive classroom environment where children feel valued and supported.
  • Assess and monitor students' progress and provide feedback to parents and administrators.
  • Collaborate with assistant teachers and support staff to ensure the effective delivery of educational programs.
  • Maintain open communication with parents and caregivers to foster a strong home-school connection.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in early childhood education.

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field.
  • Experience: At least one year of experience in a preschool or early childhood education setting is preferred.
  • Skills:
  • Strong understanding of child development and early childhood education principles.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to create a warm and inviting classroom atmosphere.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and administrators.

Nice To Haves

Certification: Georgia Professional Standards Commission (GaPSC) certification in Early Childhood Education.

Experience: Experience with the Frog Street Curriculum or other comprehensive early childhood education curriculums.

Tech Skills: Proficiency in educational technology and software used in early childhood education.

Bilingual: Ability to speak a second language, particularly Spanish, to better communicate with diverse families.

First Aid/CPR: Certification in pediatric first aid and CPR.

Professional Development: Ongoing participation in early childhood education workshops and seminars.
