Summary

The floater is responsible for providing support and assistance in various classrooms and areas of the childcare center. This role requires flexibility, adaptability, and the ability to effectively manage multiple tasks. The floater will ensure a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for children while supporting the lead teachers and other staff members. This is a part-time position requiring the ability to work flexible hours.

Duties

  • Assist lead teachers with classroom management and activities.
  • Provide individual attention and support to children as needed.
  • Supervise children during playtime, meals, and nap times.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of children at all times.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly environment.
  • Cover for teachers and staff members during their breaks, maintaining continuity of care and supervision.
  • Assist with cleaning and sanitizing toys, equipment, and facilities.
  • Ensure all areas are tidy and hygienic.
  • Help prepare and serve meals and snacks.
  • Assist children with eating and ensure proper nutrition and hygiene practices.
  • Assist with diaper changes and toilet training as needed.
  • Set up and clean up after activities, ensuring materials are ready and the area is tidy.
  • Interact with parents during drop-off and pick-up times, providing brief updates on their child's day.
  • Assist with organizing and supervising special events, field trips, and other activities.
  • Observe children’s behavior and development, reporting any concerns or notable observations to the lead teacher or director.
  • Be ready to assist in any area of the childcare center as needed, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in childcare or early childhood education required.
  • CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a team.
  • Patience, compassion, and a genuine love for working with children.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing needs and priorities
  • Must clear full background check and must pass health screening.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field 
  • Child Development Associate (CDA)


Salary : $16 to $18/Hr
