Assistant Teacher

Summary

Responsible for planning and implementing daily classroom lesson plans and assuring safety of children in the classroom.

Duties

• Responsible for knowing and following the policies and procedures of the Center, and State Licensing Rules & Regulations.
• Treating all of the children with dignity and respect.
• Assists and supervises children during all activities.
• Ability to help with potty training.
• Helps children with meal times and clean-up.
• Ability to provide the highest quality of Early Childhood Education.
• Meet yearly continuing education requirements.
• Completes all center and classroom paperwork (daily notes, incident reports, attendance reports).
• Maintain accountability for the children in your care during the course of your shift.
• Schedules and conducts parent and teacher conferences throughout the year.
• Physically arranges the classroom into well-defined interest areas .
• Directs activities of other staff in the classroom to ensure that the classroom functions in an orderly manner.

Requirements

• Prepares and implements classroom lesson plans, program, and schedule.
• Lots of patience and love.
• Highly professional, dependable and well presented.
• Able to interact with students of all ages and skill levels.
• Must be able to lift no less than 40 pounds.
• Must be able to pass a criminal background check and a Child Protective Services background check.
• Certifications in CPR, First Aid Training and MAT a plus
