The teacher is responsible for developing a cohesive teaching team, coordinating the curriculum, and managing the day-to-day operational activities of the classroom. Teachers must understand children’s cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development in order to ensure a safe and stimulating classroom environment where children are actively engaged and encouraged to succeed. The teacher must be skilled in communicating with both children and adults in order to meet the needs of the children, effectively guide teacher assistants, and resolve parental concerns.
Shandon United Methodist Preschool and Kindergarten has been in operation since 1952. We believe that children learn through play, and our mission is to provide the highest quality care for children in a Christian environment. We are a licensed facility that provides both part-time and full-time care, and we accept children ages 6 weeks through 5K. Shandon United Methodist Preschool and Kindergarten is committed to meeting the needs of both the children and families we serve as well as the staff members that dedicate their time to fostering the growth of these children.
