Floater Daycare

Summary

Our childcare center is looking for a fun loving, caring, dependable person who loves working with children ages infant - five. This is a 40 hour a week position, Monday - Friday. Our school is located in Fairfield, CT and our school hours are 7am-5:30pm. We are looking for teachers who are looking to make the Early Childhood field their career.

Duties

We are looking for teachers to work full time, 40 hours a week, working as a floater. Only applicants who love working with children and have day care experience should apply.

Responsibilities of the Assistant Teacher:

• Assist the lead teacher in providing care and supervision to toddlers and preschool-aged children
• Sit, Stand and bend with no problems. Lift up to 50lbs. with no problems.
• Support the implementation of a developmentally appropriate curriculum
• Collaborate with the lead teacher in planning and organizing daily activities
• Assist with behavior management and provide guidance to children with special needs, including those with autism
• Create a safe and nurturing environment for all children
• Maintain open communication with parents regarding their child's progress and any concerns that may arise
• Assist with mealtime routines, diaper changes, and other daily care tasks as needed

Skills for the Assistant Teacher

• 1+ years of Early Childhood experience required
• Experience working with toddlers, preschoolers, and children with special needs is preferred
• Knowledge of early childhood development principles and practices
• Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with colleagues, parents, and children
• Strong organizational skills to assist with curriculum development and activity planning
• Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude towards working with young children
• Ability to adapt to changing situations and handle challenging behaviors

Requirements
