Duties

Key Responsibilities

·      Coordinate and implement educational curriculum by developing classroom activities based on developmentally appropriate practices and early learning standards.

·      Lesson plans will be completed one week ahead of time and turned in to the Director the Friday before the lesson takes place. LESSON PLANS MUST BE POSTED IN YOUR CLASSROOMS.

·      Lead by example; encourage teaching team success through modeling and coaching.

·      Plan individual and group age-appropriate activities to actively engage children and encourage social, cognitive, and emotional growth.

·      Maintain frequent communications with parents through informal discussions, progress reports, and parent-teacher conferences.

·      Ensure all center policies and state regulations are met. Including required training.

·      Ensure a healthy classroom environment – including maintaining appropriate hygiene and cleanliness standards and safety and security of children.

·      Supervise teacher assistants and classroom volunteers to follow planned activities, hygiene, and safety standards.

·      Maintain accurate records, forms, and files.

·      Maintain a professional development plan to ensure continuous quality improvement.

·      Actively supervise children during all activities. Teachers should be up and circulating the room. Engaging in classroom conversations or activities with the child(ren).

· Maintain accurate attendance records and incident/accident reports.

·      Each teacher will be required to perform the following tasks daily: sweep the floor, empty the trash, wipe down tables and shelves, and stock equipment/classroom supplies.

·      Must attend and participate in staff meetings and site events as requested.

·      Must maintain confidentiality.

·      Complies with Tipp City Enrichment Program and State regulations regarding the care of children.

·      Keeps Director informed of all necessary information regarding the care and safety of children.
