Summary
Coulee Children's Center is looking for a DPI qualified educator to provide educational opportunities in our 4 year old Kindergarten class in a team-teaching approach. Our program is contracted through the School District of La Crosse to provide 4 year old public preschool in our building.
The hours of the position would be Monday-Friday 8:00a-5:00p(one day working 8:00-12:00) with the 4 year old kindergarten program running 8:30a-11:00p. Wrap around care will be provide for children outside of those hours.
Occasional evening hours will be required once a month for family nights as well as twice a year parent teacher conferences.
Duties
- Plan and implement weekly lesson plans aligned with Wisconsin Model Early Learning Standards (WMELS) and High Scope curriculum.
- Collect quarterly assessment data for all areas of development (social-emotional, daily living, gross and fine motor, mathematics, literacy).
- Implement daily SMART (Stimulating Maturity through Accelerated Readiness Training) course and activities in the classroom.
- Foster partnerships with families through communication during drop-off and pick-up times, monthly family nights, monthly family projects/activities, weekly/monthly newsletters, emails, cubby notes, and family-teacher conferences each semester (fall, spring).
- Collaborate with teacher assistant(s) (TAs) for daily tasks/duties such as lesson preparation, bulletin boards upkeep, maintaining classroom organization/cleanliness, etc.
- Attend and participate in monthly preschool teacher meetings and professional development required by the district.
- Maintain fifteen hours of professional development credits annually.
- Know any allergies/dietary restrictions of the children in the classroom and serve meals accordingly.
- If needed, collaborate with families and management to create and implement any necessary behavior plans.
- When necessary, administer speech screeners for possible speech services through the district.
- Collaborate with speech and occupational therapists through the district with IEP requirements. Attend annual IEP meetings for students with IEPs.
Requirements
- Current Department of Public Instruction License #777, 070, 080, 083, 086, 088, 100, 103, 106 or 108.
- Experience with creating and implementation of curriculum.
