Preschool Substitute Teachers

Summary

CAVE SPRING UNITED METHODIST CHURCH Weekday Preschool seeks caring, kind, loving individuals to join our staff. Must have a heart for caring for children! Must have a high school diploma or equivalent. Must be 18 years old or older and have experience caring for young children.

Substitute positions may include any of the following shifts: 7:30 AM - 1:30 PM; 8:30 AM - 1:30 PM; 7:30 AM - 4:30 PM; 8:30 AM - 5:30 PM; 1:30 PM - 5:30 PM.

Positions are as needed through May 28, 2026. We follow Roanoke County Public Schools' calendar for start and end dates, holidays, teacher workdays, closings, and delays. We do not participate in the scheduled three-hour early dismissals.

Duties

• Set up classroom materials or equipment.
• Provide for children's basic needs.
• Enforce rules or policies.
• Read to students.
• Monitor student behavior.
• Discuss problems or issues with supervisors.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years old
• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
• Childcare experience
