Program Specialist - Green County

POSITION SPECIFIC DETAILS:

Hours: 20 hours/week

Status: Full Year

Location Position: will work with Green County families

The Early Head Start Program Assistant is responsible for supporting the Green County Early Head Start Home Based programs.

Duties

This includes preparation of: materials; transportation & nutrition needs for socializations; maintaining curricular resources for home visits; special projects; developing newsletters and other written materials and assisting the families, Family Advocates and Supervisors of EHS.

Requirements

• Bilingual (Spanish) skills, particularly spoken, desired, not required
• Child Development or related Associate’s Degree and experience preferred
• Ability to understand office systems and procedures and utilize them in support of overall program compliance, with strong emphasis on record keeping, tracking and contact with public
• Strong computer literacy and 2 to 3 years of work experience in Microsoft Office programs, Outlook, Google – Gmail, Sheets, Drive, Docs, Windows Media, Paint, and the internet
• Coursework and / or experience in 0-3 education, human development and / or health services preferred
• Effective communication skills, written, verbal, and listening; ability to communicate professionally and effectively with parents, staff and management on a daily basis

About Us

Reach Dane provides high-quality early childhood services to over 1,000 underserved children ages 0-5 in Dane County through center based and home visitation programs. Our staff work tirelessly every day to reach the most vulnerable children and families in our community, and the need for our services is growing. The number of infants and toddlers experiencing homelessness enrolled in our programs has tripled over the last four years. Last year, Reach Dane served more homeless children than any other Head Start program in Wisconsin.
